Gold Stripe Over Fuschia

Polishes Used:
Posh Plum- Sally Hansen
Viva Las Vegas- Misa

I recently treated myself to a bottle of gold sparkle with the proper long brush, and while I may not yet be the master of using said brush, the application goes on really nice!

Chalkboard Nail's Dotting Contest

Polishes used:
Gunmetal- Sally Hansen
White On- Sally Hansen
Celeb City- Sally Hansen
French Quarter for your Thoughts- OPI

Sarah over at Chalkboard Nails is holding a contest for dotted manis. It is one of the most simple ways to get a great design without having to fork over lots of cash on tools. While some may opt to use a professional dotting tool, there are loads of things around the house that can yield the same result. (ie, my manicure was done using a nail head and tooth pick!)

Wish me luck!

FYI- The contest is over, but I'm going to leave these pictures up!

French Quarter for Your Thoughts- OPI

My only comment is that this polish comes out quite a bit darker than what it looks like in the bottle!

Shine of the Times

Polishes Used:
Black Out- Sally Hansen
Shine of the Times- Essie

I've seen a lot of comparison videos for all the different duo chrome polishes, and Essie always seems to be coming out the winner. Shine of the times is one mani I always seem to go back to, and the black first coat always gives the biggest effect! In addition, it's the only duo chrome polish that seems to be available in my region...

Flower Mani

Polishes Used:
Mellow Yellow- Sally Hansen
Fuchsia Power- Sally Hansen
Lacey Lilac- Sally Hanen
Mermaids Tears- OPI

1. Paint your base coat and when dry paint messy ovals.
2. Wait a few minutes and add centers to the flowers.

3. Add your leaves.
4. Out line everything in black polish with a long whispie brush.
5. Top Coat!

These are the brushes I used. The bigger one for the flowers and the whispie one for the leave and the outlining. Both were purchased from an art store.
Remember to clean them in polish remover after!

My tip:
I am right handed to my left nails always come out way better than my right! I only attempt the ring finger on my right hand to match. : )

Sponge Mani- Nude and Brown

Polishes Used:
Topless and Barefoot- Essie
You Don't know Jaques- OPI

How To:
1. Choose a colour and paint the entire nail. Allow to dry completely.
2. Cut a small corner off a sponge. I've seen some people use make-up sponges, but I like the porousness of a regular kitchen sponge.
3. Apply polish to the sponge and gently sponge onto the nail starting with the tip and then fading upwards toward the cuticle.
4. Clean up the edges with some polish remover and slap on some top coat!

Water Marble- Earth tomes

Polishes Used:
Samoan Sands- OPI
French Quarter For Your Thoughts- OPI
You Don't Know Jaques- OPI

This was probably my best attempt at water marbling, and yet I wore this mani for about 10 minutes because I just found the colours so boring!

Lots of great tutorials available on YouTube.

East Village- NYC

I'm not usually a fan of blue polish, but this one has a great iridescence to it!

Polka Dot Mani- Pastels on White

White Out- Sally Hansen
Mellow Yellow- Sally Hansen
Lacey Lilac- Sally Hansen
Mermaids Tears- OPI
